Oftentimes, the need for emotional support is evident, yet the means to provide it remain uncertain. Additionally, there could be concerns regarding potential underlying issues impacting your child, prompting the exploration of diagnostic resources aimed at equipping them with necessary support, skills, and resources.

Children are not always able to find the words to express challenges they are facing or how they are feeling. Play therapy creates a safe, stress-free place to learn new problem-solving skills, practice empathy, build self-esteem and respect for others, while building language and communication skills. It gives children the chance to share and speak with a trusted adult who can objectively help them figure out their day-to-day.
These skills and mindset shifts can help children and youth recognize, understand, and express their emotions, decreasing anger, worries, and negative behaviour at home, at school, and in relationships.
As an option, I am able to meld my two passions: psychology and music to offer music-integrated therapy as part of play therapy. This can be particularly helpful for children to calm their autonomic nervous system, reduce anxiety, and build self-confidence and competency through a creative outlet that brings happiness.
I have experience working with clients who are neurodivergent and recognize the unique differences that come with that. I have supported children and youth with ADHD, Autism, ODD, anxiety, depression, and OCD.
I am a part of the Crossroads Collective High Conflict team which specializes in working with families who are navigating heightened levels of conflict, and/or have been court-involved. I am trauma-informed and have specialized knowledge and extensive training in high-conflict family dynamics.
Additionally, I am registered as a counsellor with the Crime Victim Assistance Program and have further training and certification in Trauma-Focused CBT to be able to help those who have symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder, fear, anxiety, or depression related to traumatic life events.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and licensed with the BCACC with an RCC designation. I am also registered with the CCPA and have a CCC designation. I am a member of the BC Chapter of the Association of Family Conciliation Courts.
Child play therapy techniques and interventions may include things such as:
Role-playing: Engaging in pretend play scenarios as we explore understanding different perspectives and practicing new coping skills.
Storytelling: Encouraging the child to create or narrate stories that reflect their experiences and the emotions, behaviour, and thoughts that went along with them.
Music Therapy: Playing instruments, singing or creating songs, and analyzing lyrics to decrease stress, practice mindfulness, and allow an exploration of thoughts, beliefs, and events through a creative outlet.
Puppet Play: Using puppets to communicate family dynamics and express thoughts and feelings through the interaction of pretend characters.
Communication Games: Using games to create an opportunity for the child to recognize, explore, and express their worries, thoughts, feelings, and current behaviours.
Therapeutic Games: Using board games or other structured activities to facilitate emotional expression and problem-solving.
Symbolic Play: Encouraging the child to use toys and objects symbolically to work through conflicts or challenges.
I truly care about creating a positive, strength-based approach to helping your child and would love to be a part of your journey.

Helping children and young people feel safe, understood, and supported is at the heart of my work. I offer a calm, creative space where children, adolescents, and their families can work through challenges, build emotional resilience, and strengthen their relationships. Using a blend of play therapy, sand tray, and a whole-family approach, I support each young person in finding their voice and developing tools that last well beyond the therapy room.
Because children often express themselves through play rather than words, play therapy allows them to explore emotions, process experiences, and make sense of their world in a way that feels natural and engaging. Through sand tray therapy, children and teens can externalize their inner experiences, using symbols and stories to safely explore what may be difficult to say out loud.

Children often struggle to express big emotions, worries, or confusing experiences in words. My counselling space is designed to feel warm, safe, and calming, where children can explore, create, and make sense of their world through play, imagination, movement, and gentle therapeutic structure.
I draw from positive psychology and a strengths-based approach, helping children and families build confidence, emotional resilience, and practical tools they can use at home, school, and in friendships. My work integrates somatic regulation, breath and movement, trauma-informed practice, DBT skills for emotion regulation, and cognitive–behavioural strategies adapted for children. Through play therapy children learn to name feelings, solve problems, and practice new behaviours.

Children have the ability to connect with others while they are playing. As a play therapist, we are able to create that bond with the kids who are going through things at school or at home and have difficulty expressing those feelings. My approach to play therapy is to individualize treatment plans for all my clients. I feel it is better to cooperatively work with children to help them be and feel their best in whatever situation they can go through. Whether that is to help them with confidence, self-awareness, self-control, and self-esteem. I create activities or play games that are customized to help with stress, anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, or big emotions my clients may be dealing with. Sometimes all they need is someone to listen to them vent their frustrations. With whatever situation your child may be dealing with, I provide a warm, caring, empathetic, nurturing environment that will allow your child to be safe to feel their feelings in a non-judgemental space.

Sometimes big feelings can be hard for children to express in words. That’s where play therapy comes in, as it offers a developmentally appropriate way for children to explore their feelings, make sense of their experiences, and find healing through creativity and connection. My role is to create a safe, compassionate space where your child feels seen, heard, and supported as they build the emotional tools they need to grow with confidence.
Whether your child is experiencing anxiety, emotional outbursts, difficulties with attention, or sensitivity to their environment, I work collaboratively with caregivers to understand the full picture. Together, we’ll support your child’s emotional regulation, strengthen their sense of self, and nurture a secure and trusting parent-child relationship.

I am currently a student intern counsellor at Crossroads Collective in Kelowna, BC, while completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I hold an educational background in Child and Youth Care and have gained valuable experience supporting children and families in both clinical and community settings. As an intern, I receive regular clinical supervision, which supports my growth and ensures safe, ethical, and effective care.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy hiking and exploring the outdoors. I also have a background in competitive dance and creative movement, which continues to inform my use of expressive, body-based approaches with children. I bring this creativity into my practice to help children explore and communicate in ways that feel natural and engaging to them.
My Approach to Counselling:
I offer an integrative, client-centred, and trauma-informed approach to therapy that honours each child’s unique story, strengths, and developmental needs. Rooted in Adlerian principles, my work emphasizes connection, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. I use play therapy and expressive arts to support emotional regulation, communication, and self-expression. For children who may not have the words to share how they feel, play becomes their language.
I also integrate attachment-based and family systems approaches, working closely with parents and caregivers to support consistent, nurturing environments. My practice is affirming of neurodiverse children and inclusive of sensory preferences and needs. Through a gentle, creative lens, I aim to help children feel safe, confident, and connected—to themselves, to their caregivers, and to the world around them.
Some of the interventions I use in child play therapy are:
- Sandtray therapy: Using miniature figures and a tray of sand to create scenes that reflect the child’s thoughts and feelings.
- Art therapy: Utilizing art materials to help children express themselves visually and explore their emotions.
- Puppet play: Allowing the child to express their feelings and thoughts through interactions with puppets.
- Therapeutic games: Using board games or other structured activities to facilitate emotional expression and problem-solving.
- Storytelling: Encouraging the child to create or narrate stories that reflect their experiences and emotions.
- Role-playing: Engaging in pretend play scenarios to explore different perspectives and practice new coping skills.
- Movement or dance therapy: Incorporating movement and dance to help children release pent-up emotions and enhance self-expression.
- Symbolic play: Encouraging the child to use toys and objects symbolically to work through conflicts or challenges.
