Clinical Counsellor, Play Therapist

It isn’t easy to seek support, but here you are. You’ve already jumped over a very tough hurdle! I bring warmth and compassion to each interaction and believe in the innate ability we all have to heal and grow. It’s my goal to help you find a deeper appreciation and understanding of self and to expand your capacity for lifelong resiliency in a space where you feel seen and heard.

Life is tough sometimes. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unable to cope, I can help you. I am passionate about helping children and youth become empowered and in charge of their thoughts. If your child is having a hard time with thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, I am here to support as well. You are not alone.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through BCACC. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Masters of Counselling from City University and currently, I am working towards becoming a Certified Play Therapist. Prior to counselling, I worked as a Kindergarten Teacher for nearly 10 years. It was this role as an early childhood educator that ignited my desire to help children through the challenges of life with more depth and meaning. It fuelled my curiosity around attachment theory and how adverse childhood experiences affect the developing brain, impacting children’s emotional and developmental trajectory. Which ultimately filters into our lives as adults.

I am passionate about helping young children, youth, and adults process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that grants them the awareness that they are truly capable and worthy. Through a person-centered, holistic and collaborative approach, my practice aims to help shift unhelpful thinking and exercise healthy coping. I’ll help you identify the physiological responses, process the root cause and learn effective self-regulation to make daily life feel lighter and more enjoyable.  I am equally as enthusiastic to work with caregivers and families to support in better understanding the why behind behaviours, strategies for dealing with diverse needs, and personal struggles.

My approach is integrative and based on your unique needs; I may utilize CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Somatic Practices, Play Therapy and Psychoeducation. I work within a range of areas such as:

  • Emotional Regulation
  • Coping Skills
  • Boundaries
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Early childhood development
  • Parenting
  • Pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum
  • Trauma
  • Divorce/Separation
  • Life Transitions
  • Family dynamics
  • Self-esteem
  • Grief and loss

Everyone deserves a safe, trusting space to share and unpack their story. It would be an honour to walk alongside you as you rise through this and find inner peace.

Feeling heard and unconditionally accepted can help us feel safe while exploring vulnerable parts of ourselves. This can be especially important if the thoughts and feelings that live within our vulnerability prevent us from feeling like we deserve to grow and be at ease with ourselves. I therefore consider it a sincere honour to be able to sit with you as we navigate and process what brought you to counselling. Moreover, I find passion in collaborating with you on ways that we can challenge the thoughts and feelings that stifle your inner peace, self-acceptance, and hope.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Initially I pursued psychology because I wanted to develop a deeper understanding of people. I therefore volunteered for several non-profit organizations both during and after my undergraduate studies. During my time as a volunteer, I worked with diverse people in socially and therapeutically supportive ways. These experiences evolved my love for learning about people into a love for listening to their stories. However, my previous volunteer work as a crisis line call-taker solidified my passion for playing an active role in supporting people therapeutically. It is now my honour to do this as a clinical counsellor.

While my approach to therapy is Person-Centered, I think about the person primarily from a Cognitive Behavioural lens. As such, I utilize related interventions, though I also integrate elements of Existential, Narrative, Gestalt, Mindfulness-Based, and Solution-Focused therapies as well. I believe that each person already has the inner resources to grow and make positive changes. However, sometimes, we need some extra support accessing those resources. As a counsellor, I aim to foster a supportive, healing environment to help you connect with yourself, get in touch with your inner wisdom, and create meaningful changes in your life.

In our work together, we will identify and transform the patterns you developed to survive, but are no longer serving you. This will look like exploring your behaviours, emotions, thoughts, expectations, and the meaning you make of your concerns. We will also explore the impact of the systems in which you exist, such as your family and cultural contexts.

By looking at each layer of your experience, we can identify your stuck points and help you feel empowered to make choices in alignment with who you are. I take a collaborative and anti-oppressive approach to therapy, so throughout the process, I will always emphasize choice and safety.

Some of the areas I can support you with include:

  • Anxiety

Intern Counsellor, Play Therapist

Sometimes life feels heavy, and you may find yourself stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do next. Having the right support can make all the difference. I will work alongside you to create a safe and compassionate space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing.

I work with individuals, couples, families, children, and youth, supporting people through life’s obstacles. This could mean helping a child find healthy ways to express and manage overwhelming emotions, guiding a family to rebuild trust and improve their communication, or walking alongside an adult as they navigate anxiety, manage stress, or develop emotional balance.

With a background in child and youth care, my approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and centred on what matters most to you. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in moving forward with greater clarity, resilience, and connection.

I am currently a student intern counsellor at Crossroads Collective in Kelowna, BC, while pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. With an educational background in Child and Youth Care and ongoing practical experience through my practicums and current work in the field, I have developed a strong foundation for supporting children, youth, and families. As an intern, I receive experienced clinical supervision that guides my work, allowing me to provide compassionate, client-centred support focused on helping individuals build resilience and develop healthy coping skills.

Outside of work, I’m an outdoors enthusiast who loves hiking and travelling to new places. I was also a competitive dancer and deeply value movement as a powerful form of self-expression. I bring this sense of creativity and openness into my counselling practice, creating a space where you can feel safe to explore your own journey toward growth and healing.

My Approach to Counselling

I offer an integrative, client-centred and trauma-informed approach to therapy, with a deep respect for each person’s unique story and strengths. My work is grounded in Adlerian principles, emphasizing encouragement, belonging, and purposeful living while exploring family dynamics to understand patterns and foster social connectedness. I prioritize enhancing clients’ emotional awareness and facilitating deeper connections with themselves and others in the present moment. By guiding clients to reframe and reconstruct their personal narratives, I support healing, empowerment, and resilience.

With children and youth, I incorporate play therapy and expressive arts to promote emotional regulation, communication, and self-expression in ways that are developmentally appropriate and engaging. My background in creative movement and dance enriches this work, especially for clients who benefit from somatic and non-verbal expression.

I work collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families to address a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and emotional regulation. Through a compassionate and strength-based lens, I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where healing and growth can unfold.

  • Emotional Regulation & Stress Management
  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Family Dynamics & Parenting Support
  • Self-Esteem, Building Resilience and Coping Strategies

My approach to counselling is to create a warm, understanding, client-centred environment to support you with compassion, empathy, and understanding to view your situation holistically.

I am currently a Master of Social Work student at Wilfrid Laurier University. While embarking on the journey to become a private counsellor, I also work with Fraser Health Authority as a Clinician Social Worker with an Assertive Community Treatment Team, supporting people daily with acute mental health struggles. Before this, I lived in Saskatchewan and worked as a crisis counsellor for over seven years, and have extensive experience in crisis intervention, solution-focused, and family-centred practice. I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work through the University of Regina in 2010, and have been a registered social worker in good standing for many years with the provincial bodies.

I have gained experience in counselling families and individuals through crisis situations. What brings me the most joy is supporting families, especially parents, to learn new ways of interacting and engaging with their children, as well as each other, to create more positive family dynamics and happy home lives.

Feel free to reach out if you are looking for assistance in navigating your thoughts and feelings during a difficult time in your life. Clinical Counsellor, Play Therapist

I offer in-person and online counselling for adults, as well as group workshops at adult education centres, seniors’ centres, and artist collectives.

Areas of support include:
• Anxiety & spiraling thoughts
• Neurodivergence exploration
• Shame & self-worth
• Family communication & relationships
• Trauma & nervous system regulation
• Grief, loss & life transitions
• Retirement identity & values-driven planning
• Creativity blocks & artistic recovery

Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and feeling stuck, unsure how to move forward. You may be exploring your neurodivergence, navigating a major life transition, or simply wanting to feel more grounded, hopeful, and connected to the people you love. My counselling space is warm, calm, and designed to feel safe. It’s a cozy place where we slow down, connect and build your more hope-filled future.

I draw from positive psychology and a strengths-based approach. Together we set real world goals, track progress, and build the resilience and skills needed to navigate life more confidently. My work integrates nervous-system regulation, somatic therapy, movement and breathwork, trauma-informed practice, and DBT skills, alongside practical cognitive and behavioural strategies. I believe problems are roadblocks, not identities. Most people are far more capable and resource-rich than they realize.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a BA in Counselling from Providence University College and an MA in Counselling from Kairos University. I am completing a post-graduate certificate in Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. My additional certifications include trauma therapy, anxiety treatment, grief support, and training as a Grief Movement Coach. My practice is Indigenous-informed, shaped in part by training through NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community, where I studied Indigenous Theology within an integrative learning pathway.

My ideal clients are adults (18–80) who are curious, thoughtful, and ready for change. Many identify as neurodivergent, or are exploring whether they might be, and are seeking support for spiraling thoughts, anxiety, shame, family communication, and understanding their own neurotype. I have a special interest in supporting retiring professionals who are navigating identity shifts and building a values-driven life after decades of career focused activity.

I also work extensively with creatives, drawing from 25 years as a painter, photographer, and filmmaker. I help artists, musicians, writers, and other creative professionals transform trauma, loss, and life transitions into meaningful artistic expression and renewed creative momentum.

My personal path informs the work I do. Trauma counselling helped me rebuild a life I thought I had lost, and grief therapy was essential after the neonatal loss of my second child. I know the power of this work because I have lived it. My practice is grounded in curiosity, humour, and a sense of transcendence, helping clients reconnect to what matters most.

Human beings are inherently social creatures, and our relationships serve as crucial foundations for emotional support, personal growth, and a sense of belonging. Navigating the complexities of these connections requires effective communication, empathy, and the ability to understand differing perspectives, ultimately leading to healthier interactions and stronger bonds. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the intricate dynamics of their relationships, whether with partners, children, family members, in-laws, or work colleagues.

I understand that relationships can be both rewarding and challenging, often requiring us to confront our emotions, expectations, and communication styles. My approach combines the principles of Reality Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy, allowing me to address both the conscious choices we make in our relationships and the deeper, often unconscious factors that influence our interactions with others.

We will work together to empower you to take responsibility for your actions and decisions while also exploring the underlying emotional patterns that may be affecting your relationships. Our framework for understanding how your choices impact your connections with others encourages you to identify your needs and set achievable goals. Meanwhile, we may sometimes need to delve into past experiences and unresolved conflicts that may be shaping your current relationship dynamics. This integrative approach enables us to have a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of human relationships.

Whether you are struggling with communication issues in your partnership, seeking to improve your relationship with your children, or navigating the challenges of family dynamics and workplace interactions, I am here to support you. Together, we will work to enhance your self-awareness, improve your relational skills, and foster healthier connections with those around you. As an Indo-Canadian I have experience with being brought up in two wildly different cultures. That knowledge has helped me to gain an understanding of cultural differences and how we are all raised with different beliefs and that one belief does not trump another. Gaining perspective of how multi-culturalism has helped shaped who we are today. Which allows me to help all types of people in whatever situation they can be in. I believe that with my education and personal experience it has allowed me to hone my skills to help others and gave me the tools I need to help people get the necessary confidence to create change for themselves in a way that aligns with their culture and beliefs.
