Associate Counsellor, Play Therapist

About Anam

It’s my passion to support individuals of all ages as they navigate life’s emotional ups and downs. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, or the pain of relationship difficulties and trauma, I strive to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow.

It’s my honour to help you heal from challenges such as:

  • Anxiety and emotional regulation struggles
  • Depression and low motivation
  • Grief and life transitions
  • Relationship conflict or infidelity
  • Childhood wounds and trauma
  • Navigating uncertainty in identity, roles, or the future

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BCACC. I completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. My clinical journey has included working with children, youth, and adults across various settings—from after-school programs and nonprofit counselling centers to private practice. I remain committed to ongoing professional development and deepening my skillset as a therapist.

In my work, I integrate evidence-based modalities such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Somatic and parts-based approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS)

My approach is centered on empathy, curiosity, and non-judgment. I believe every person has an inner capacity for healing and resilience. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that are no longer serving you and work toward building a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and aligned with who you are.

Some of the areas I specialize in include:

  • Anxiety, emotional regulation, and ADHD (children and adults)
  • Grief and processing difficult life transitions
  • Trauma and attachment wounds
  • Infidelity and relational repair
  • Play-based and creative approaches for children experiencing conflict, bullying, or emotional overwhelm

Outside of my professional work, I love spending time with friends and family, exploring scenic viewpoints around BC, and relaxing with a good comedy movie.
