Yoga Classes Kelowna

At Crossroads Collective in Kelowna, we embrace a mindfulness-based approach to healing and personal growth and incorporate the rich traditions of yoga to help clients release, restore and connect to their authentic selves.

Developing the mind-body-spirit connection creates an internal safe space for healing and can help minimize the negative effects of anxiety and depressive symptoms that prevent growth and inspiration for change.

At our Kelowna clinic, we offer classes designed to help individuals become more connected to their bodies through acceptance, compassion, and hope.

Kelowna Yoga Classes

Our gentle, restorative yoga classes are designed around various themes to help calm the nervous system and promote positive change and healing. Themes include mindfulness and learning to be present, letting go, acceptance, and self-awareness. Restorative classes can encourage healing from trauma and grief, promote courage, resilience, strength, and self-acceptance.

What Is Yoga?

A millennia-old discipline from India, Yoga is an amalgamation of physical poses, guided breathing, and mental focus to help achieve holistic well-being. By combining movement with relaxation techniques, the practice has stood the test of time and is increasingly becoming a preferred way to reach a state of tranquillity in our modern-day lives.

Who Is Yoga Beneficial For?

For those with certain health conditions, yoga is a useful tool to maintain well-being. Numerous studies have proven that it can aid in treating the symptoms of back pain, arthritis, depression, anxiety, neck and back stiffness, fibromyalgia, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), migraines, sleeplessness, menopausal symptoms, and body weight control.

Life is full of challenges, so fill your toolkit with healthy practices to help you navigate the tough times!

Hello, my name is Lea, and I am a high school teacher, certified  yoga instructor, and intern counsellor at Crossroads Collective in Kelowna. With over 400 hours of yoga teacher training, I have had the pleasure of sharing my love of yoga with hundreds of students over the past decade. One of  my goals is to demystify the practice of yoga – if you have a body and can
breathe, you can do yoga! Incorporating restorative yoga, guided relaxation, and breath work into your weekly routine can be life changing, so  I recommend it to everyone, especially if youare experiencing stress, anxiety,  loss, or overwhelm. Ages 16+ are welcome!

While teaching high school for twenty years, I developed my passion for empowering youth in discovering their unique abilities, individual worth, and potential. My experiences as a teacher and mother of two have provided me with many skills and insights that I feel will complement my abilities as a counsellor.

There is no “one size fits all” in therapy, so I use a holistic, culturally sensitive, multi-lens approach that includes a variety of techniques and strategies to help understand and work through your specific concerns. With over 400 hours of yoga teacher training, I also bring an understanding of the mind-body connection along with the power of movement, breath, and meditation to my counselling practice.

Overall, my goal as a counsellor is to help others pave a path towards their best life.
