Crossroads Collective in Langley is now able to offer Child Assessments.

These diagnostic assessments will help provide insight into your child.  This may result in a diagnosis and/or provide you with some information to further direct your efforts to provide support and tools for your child.

Receiving an official diagnosis from our Registered Psychologist may also lead to additional government funding and/or charity funding that is available in our community.

Psycho-Educational Assessments

What is Psycho-Educational assessment?

Psychoeducational assessment (Learning Disability assessment) can help a person identify his/her learning style. It can identify learning disabilities, ADHD, giftedness and more.

    What does it assess?

    • Language skills
    • Memory
    • Learning
    • Attention/ concentration
    • Intelligence
    • Planning/Executive Functioning
    • Reading (phonetic skills,reading comprehension)
    • Spelling/Writing
    • Mathematics
    • Academic fluency (speed of reading, writing, calculating)
    • Listening comprehension
    • Oral expressive skills

     

      Typical Format

      • Initial Parent Meeting (First Session): This session gives a chance for us to get a clearer idea of the challenges at hand and gives parents a chance to voice their concerns and ask questions.
      • Testing Sessions: Typically about 5 testing sessions. 1 hour for each session depending on the individual.
      • Feedback Session: This one hour session gives us an opportunity to review and go over findings with parents and answer any questions you may have.
      • Report Writing and Scoring: 5-7 hours (Report will be available approximately 2-4 weeks after the feedback appointment)

        Autism Assessment – Age under 6

        Approximate cost $4725

        Typical Format:

        • Initial Parent Meeting: 1 hour (may not be applicable)
        • Parent Interview: 2 hours
        • Child Interview: 2 hours
        • SLP Assessment: 1.5-3 hours
        • Cognitive Testing: 1-2 hours
        • Feedback: 1 hour
        • Report Writing and Scoring: 5-7 hours
        • SLP report writing: 1.5-2 hours

        There are 3 components to a private ASD assessment for children under 6. All three parties must agree on the diagnosis in order to obtain an ASD diagnosis. Registered associates at all three of our clinic locations can complete the first and second components of the assessment:

        1. Psychology
        2. Speech Language
        3. Pediatrics*

            Individuals with suspected inattention or hyperactivity issues often benefit from a specific and tailored assessment. In an effort to best capture the attentional concerns, our team covers a variety of facets that include working memory, sustained attention, executive functioning, learning profiles, cognitive profiles, and parent/teacher questionnaires.

                  • Confirmation of Diagnosis, letters to various agencies, funding applications and other such documentation that may be required by an individual or family which helps to advocate for a diagnosis or confirm a diagnosis.
