Mia graduated from McGill University. She is a member of College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC) and Dietitians of Canada. She also completed Breastfeeding Course for Health Care Providers (LEARRC approved breastfeeding course) by Douglas College. Mia is also a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE®).

Mia was struggling with her body image throughout adolescence. Trying out different fad diet, yoyo dieting, fasting for days… she experienced them all, just like many people who struggles themselves with body image and weight. Her experience inspired her to study nutrition and finally become a dietitian. In her first two years of university, she lost more than 30 ibs and maintained it by applying what she learnt from school and incorporating the most recent research. By now, Mia has helped hundreds of people achieve their weight goals.

Having been working as a clinical dietitian in hospitals, outpatient units, rehabilitation hospitals, clinics and community care, she has extensive experience in weight management, chronic disease prevention and management, sport nutrition, gut health and etc. She is also working as a community dietary for pre and post natal nutrition program which run group nutrition workshops and individual nutrition consultations. She can help you with everything you need from pre-conception, pregnancy, post partum to infant nutrition.

She believes that if you cannot follow a diet plan for life, that’s not the right one for you! It’s all about lifestyle changes. We all are craving for delicious cookies, chocolates, fries, burgers, chips once a while. Nothing needs to be avoided completely, but it is all about having it in moderation and maintaining a positive lifestyle in general. Enjoying delicious foods and having healthy food choices are not contradictory at all!

Mia is also a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE®) which is a designation for health care professionals with sound knowledge base in diabetes prevention and management. Her diabetes related work experience includes helping pregnant women with gestational diabetes manage their blood sugar level, conducting educational diabetes workshops, and helping patients with diabetes in hospitals and long-term care control blood sugar.

We can help you:

  • Prevent diabetes especially if you have a family history of diabetes. As well, we offer gene testing service to help you identify if you are at risk for high blood sugar.
  • Optimize blood sugar if you have type I or type II diabetes.
  • Manage blood sugar during pregnancy and prevent type II diabetes in the future.

Food and Nutrition have been my life’s work. I have spent my career perfecting the art of flavours and different cuisines. My passion is education and creating a safe and comfortable environment to demonstrate cooking and personalized nutrition that suites the client’s specific needs. Nutritional journeys with food are one of the most personal adventures we can partake in and it is my pleasure to work with clients to meet and exceed their goals for overall wellness through educated diet and nutrition.

I have been a Chef for over 20 years. I have worked in every area of the culinary profession from running large 4 diamond Hotels as an Executive Chef to opening Casinos and educating at the collage level. I am most currently working in Retirement Living.

Living in the world of food has many advantages; however, it does come with long hours of stress and poor diet. I had no direction with my diet or control and subsequently, I gained a large amount of weight and my body and mind suffered greatly for many years. Over the past 2 years, I have changed my direction in the culinary profession and have adjusted my focus towards nutrition. I am a member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) and hold the title of Nutrition Manager. I used this education to correct my own struggles with weight and have lost and maintained close to 100lbs of weight loss through REAL nutrition. I do not believe in fad diets or quick fixes. I support the process and celebrate the inner changes we have as we become healthier and more focused on the whole process of wellness.

I am currently in process for my Holistic Nutritionist Certification and I look forward to furthering my ability to help others attain their health and nutrition goals.

Nutrition is personal and the journey needs to be customized. The tools and support we gain along the way help us become a more confident person. I look forward to working with you.
